What We Offer
What are Psychedelics? Psychedelics are referred to as mind manifesting medicines, or ‘soul visible’ meaning medicines that create a temporary space from the usual self or ego. Psychedelic plants and fungi have been used in indigenous medicinal traditions for millennia.
Psychedelic therapy (sometimes referred to as psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy) is a type of psychotherapy practice that involves ingesting a psychedelic substance for “the purpose of facilitating mental wellness, therapeutic breakthroughs, and insight”.
Ketamine Assisted Therapy
Ketamine has been safely used on millions of people as an anesthetic since the 1970s. ER physicians and anesthesiologists use it every day at work for sedations. For the past 20 years it has been used on many thousands of patients in sub-anesthetic doses to treat depression, PTSD, addiction, and other disorders. Research shows that KAT can be more effective than traditional treatments when delivered within a professional therapy program. Precise dosing of ketamine creates a state of “dissociation”, giving our busy brains a break from harmful ruminating thought patterns that can drive depression and other issues. When combined with high quality therapy, this “reboot” allows for new perspectives, insights and thinking patterns to develop. From a neurobiology perspective, ketamine has a powerful antidepressant effect mediated by the glutamate neurochemical system and has been shown in many high quality studies to effectively treat depression and substance use disorders.
We currently offer group and individual based ketamine assisted therapy program.
Psilocybin Assisted Therapy
At this time legal Psilocybin assisted therapy can be accessed in Canada through a physician application to Health Canada’s Special Access Program, or enrolling in a clinical trial. Currently, Health Canada considers approval for applications for psilocybin to be used in conjunction with therapy to treat treatment-resistant depression and end of life distress. Our team can support eligible patients apply for special access to this emerging therapy.
Inquire with our intake clinicians for more information.
MDMA Assisted Therapy
After preliminary studies MDMA demonstrated the safety and efficacy in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Breakthrough Therapy designation for MDMA. Our team has completed the MAPS MDMA training program for MDMA therapy for PTSD. Currently, Health Canada considers approval for applications for MDMA therapy to be used in conjunction with therapy to treat PTSD.
We look forward to offering this in the future.
